I have breakfast duty from 7:15-7:45, station is in front of the Cafeteria double doors closest to the Music room. The schedule for the day is on the board. The following resources are available for you to use for classes. You are welcome to tweak plans as necessary. If you'd like to show a movie to K and 1, feel free to check with the Media Center to see what they have. The DVD player is already set up. Thank you! Grades 3-4: The following videos are for rhythm play alongs. Students will need two drumsticks and a reminder to keep their sticks on their shoulders in resting position when they are not playing. Following them in order will help them as they go from easier to harder. They might get bored after 2, so maybe have them vote on what they'd like to do. After videos, students may play Mary Had a Little Lamb on the iPads using the Piano Infinity app. There are paper copies of the song on the piano bench in the front of the room. They may also play music games on the iPad (sharing with. partners) - no Minecraft and staying away from the internet. Grade 5: I've left The Sound of Music for them to watch. The DVD player is connected to the laptop. This movie actually ties in quite nicely with the social studies standards since it takes place during WWII. Tell students that the movie is set in Austria and occurs during the time that the Nazis come to power and take over Austria. This week they were able to watch a play about the holocaust, so this should be fresh for them. Grade 2: This class may do best with watching some of the STOMP DVD. You can tell them that in the video, everyday objects are used as percussion instruments. They may be able to handle 20 mins. After, feel free to have them use iPads (in partners) for piano playing and music games. Grades K-1: You can try the Avengers or Mario Brothers video with them. The others will be too difficult. They can use the piano app on the iPads (in partners) for Mary Had a Little Lamb. You can encourage them to change the words and make the song about themselves. This last video is a bit. of a challenge. There are pauses between sections and students can use them to think ahead. |
