Theremins are electronic musical instruments that have been around since 1928! You play a Theremin without actually touching the instrument, but by moving your hands near the antennae. One antenna controls the pitch (how high and low) while the other controls the volume (loud and quiet). The above picture is of a modern day Theremin.
