I have breakfast duty from 7:15-7:45, station is in front of the Cafeteria double doors closest to the Music room. The schedule for the day is on the board. 3rd, 4th and 2nd Grade: Compare and Contrast songs about Love Letters! Let students listen to the following three songs and have them think about the ways that all the songs are similar and different. Be sure to show them a picture of the Venn Diagram to help them brainstorm. If you'd like, they can take actual notes on paper (there are a few pencils left in the pencil can), or you can have someone keep notes on the whiteboard. When 3rd and 4th are finished, they can play music games on the iPads. Make sure that the kids unplug the iPads gently. We are missing quite a few, so students will need to partner up. 5th Grade: The 5th graders are working on a jazz project presentation. They will use the iPads to complete this. Students should be able to log in to Canva.com and the Adobe Video App with no issue. Have them choose the Google login method, and once they choose [email protected], it should automatically log in for both. Some. students will be working in GarageBand. They have yellow note pages on the piano bench in the front to help them out. 1st and Kindergarten: Have students warm up with the following activity, matching. music notes with Valentine words. Kids should be able to take turns using the board as a touch screen. Click on the following file to download and open:
Pass the Love Letter Activity. Students sit in a circle and pass a pretend valentine around the circle while you play The Marvelettes' song from earlier. When you pause the music, whoever is holding the letter must tap out the syllables of the name of someone they'd like to give a valentine to. For example: 1 tap for Mom, 2 taps for Tommy, etc. Lastly, kids can play music games on iPads with a partner. Note, 2nd grade might be more comfortable with the lesson for K and 1. You are welcome to change the lesson to whichever you think will work best. Thank you!
